The MK05PM(/M) Mini-Series Kinematic Prism Mount is suited for mounting prisms, beamsplitters, and non-standard optics. The mount features two axes of ±5° tip/tilt adjustment.

The mount has two axes of adjustment and features a mounting surface with two 4-40 (M3) taps to mount our MPM05(/M) Clamping Arm. Additionally, the clamping arm can be mounted via the 4-40 (M3) tap on the back plate elevated above the mounting surface. The back plate of each of these mounts also features two 4-40 (M3) tapped through holes for mounting to a Ø6 mm Mini-Series Optical Post. This mini-series mount has a compact footprint suitable for applications where space is at a premium.

Thorlabs' Mini-Series Kinematic Prism Mount provides kinematic control for prisms, cube beamsplitters, corner cubes, and other optics that require tip and tilt control. The mounting platforms contain three 4-40 (M3) tapped holes for the MPM05(/M) Clamping Arms sold below.

The MK05PM(/M) mount features M2.5 x 0.20 adjusters that can be actuated using a 0.05" (1.3 mm) ball driver or hex key. The HKTS-050 hex key adjuster knobs can also be used. An optional accessory, the F10SC1-5 Locking Collar, is available to lock the adjusters of these two mounts once the desired position is reached.

Thorlabs' Mini-Series Clamping Arm provides clamping force to secure optics to our Mini-Series Kinematic Prism Mount. The MPM05(/M) clamping arm features a 0.37" (9.4 mm) center-to-center distance between the post and the nylon-tipped setscrew that holds the optic. The clamping arm features a 4-40 (M3) thread to mount the arm into the MK05PM(/M) Mount. It can accommodate optics up to 0.23" (6.3 mm) tall if mounted in one of the two 4-40 (M3) tapped holes on the platform of the prism mount. An additional 0.57" (14.5 mm) of height is gained if the clamping arm is mounted in the 4-40 (M3) tapped hole on the back plate of the prism mount. 

The clamping arm is attached to its post using a flexure mechanism that locks with a 5/64" (2.0 mm) balldriver or hex key. The setscrew on top of the clamping arm also accepts a 5/64" (2.0 mm) balldriver or hex key in order to clamp down on the optic. A through hole on the post can be leveraged for added torque when tightening down the post. Please see the diagram to the right for additional information.
