Newton, NJ – August 20, 2025 – Thorlabs, a global manufacturer of photonics equipment, is pleased to announce that Dr. Bruno Gross has joined its executive leadership team as Executive Vice President of Global Business. Within the role, Bruno will continue to lead the organization’s European entities located in Germany, the United Kingdom, Sweden, and France while also being responsible for alignment of the organization’s global sales, technical support, marketing, and distribution functions.
Bruno earned a Ph.D. in Quantum Optics from the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München while working in the lab of Prof. Ted Hänsch. Prior to joining Thorlabs as General Manager of Germany in 2017, Bruno gained experience as a consultant for McKinsey & Co., a co-founder of Menlo Systems GmbH, and an Executive Director at Goethe-Institut. He has served as VP of Europe since 2022, where he has achieved sustained, profitable growth.
