Press Release Detail: Thorlabs Acquires Optical Fiber Processing Company, Vytran Newton, NJ – August 20, 2015 – Thorlabs announced today that it has entered into a definitive asset purchase agreement to acquire Vytran from Denmark-based NKT. Headquartered in Morganville, New Jersey, Vytran is a market leader in the production of high performance products to taper and fuse optical fiber. Their fiber processing technologies are utilized in a broad range of precision applications including telecommunications, medical components, fiber lasers, and sensing systems. A closing of the transaction is anticipated to take place in September 2015. “We are excited to have Vytran join the Thorlabs team,” said Alex Cable, President and Founder. “Their expertise and product offering are natural additions to our current fiber draw and cabling competencies.
