Thorlabs' Magnetic Table Cover is a sheet of flexible magnetic material used to cover unused holes on our stainless steel optical tables. The magnetic side of the cover provides a strong hold to the breadboard's surface, like a magnet to a refrigerator, and the other side features a water-resistant matte finish. The cover is not electrically conductive. The material can be easily cut to go around existing components or to fit in small spaces. A hole punch can be used to make holes for a 1/4"-20 (M6) screw to fit through, ensuring the cover does not move or allowing devices to be easily mounted through the cover.

(posted 2022-05-31 03:24:54.0) Thank you for contacting Thorlabs. This cover is made of a magnetic material similar to that of a fridge magnet. Our vendor unfortunately does not share any other details about the material itself with us, as that is proprietary information. user

How flexible is this cover? Can it be bent at 90° without breaking? Thanks Andrea Colonna
(posted 2021-05-11 10:46:34.953) can this layer be used as a magnet? the aim is to use it as a magnet plane where i will apply a paper fixed thanks to magnetical force created thanks to a metallic boss.
On that is it possible to receive the Mega-Gauss Oersteds (MGOe) value?
Thanks YLohia
(posted 2021-05-12 11:03:31.0) Hello, thank you for contacting Thorlabs. Unfortunately, we do not have information on the Mega-Gauss Oersteds value for this since they're really only meant to be used as optical table covers. I have reached out to you directly to discuss this further. jeffrey.t.bolan.civ
(posted 2017-01-27 14:53:59.093) What are the electrical properties of this cover? Is it conductive etc? tcampbell
(posted 2017-02-02 09:06:59.0) Response from Tim at Thorlabs: thank you for your question. The magnetic table cover is not electrically conductive and will act as an insulator. We will add this information to the web page shortly. |
