Ø1" Post V-Clamp Mounts![]()
C1012 ±10° Manual Pitch Adjustment Application Idea A C1012 V-Mount Using the Included PM3 Clamping Arm to Secure a SM05L20C Ø1/2" Lens Tube C1013 Kinematic with ±2.0° Pitch & Yaw Related Items ![]() Please Wait
Thorlabs' Ø1" Post V-Clamp Mounts are designed to fasten cylindrical components to our Ø1" or Ø25.0 mm Posts. A flexure clamping mechanism actuated with the attached handle is used to secure the clamp to the post. The V-clamp mount provides two lines of contact along the length of the V-groove, and the included PM3(/M) Clamping Arm provides a third point of contact at the top. The C1012(/M) and C1013(/M) mounts can hold cylindrical components from Ø0.03" to Ø1.19" (Ø0.8 mm to Ø30.8 mm) using the included PM3(/M) clamping arm or up to Ø1.88" (Ø47.7 mm) using the PM4(/M) Clamping Arm (not included). The pitch of the C1012(/M) mount can be coarsely adjusted by ±10°. The C1013(/M) kinematic mount has two adjustment screws that provide ±2° pitch and yaw control. These clamps feature a quick-release handle for securing the clamp to a post. The handle contains a 1/4"-20 (M6 x 1.0) threaded stud that engages the part by simply rotating the handle. An internal mechanism allows the handle's rotational position to be adjusted without actuating the mounting stud. The same quick-release handle is also sold separately [Item # C10QR(/M)]. Also sold below is the RSHA(/M) Adjustable Height Collar which offers increased control over positioning. The RSHA(/M) collar acts as a fine height adjuster with up to 0.20'' (5.1 mm) of vertical adjustment, has a resolution of 0.025" (0.64 mm) per revolution of the actuator ring, and is compatible with our Ø1'' (Ø25.0 mm) posts.

The C1012(/M) V-Clamp Mount allows a cylindrical component to be secured to a Ø1" post. The mount includes one PM3(/M) clamping arm, which can be mounted in one of three 6-32 (M4 x 0.7) threaded holes along the outer edge of the mount (see the drawing to the right). The center mounting hole is recessed, allowing the PM3(/M) clamping arm to secure objects as small as Ø0.03" (0.8 mm). The two other mounting holes are at the top edge of the V; when the PM3(/M) clamping arm is positioned in one of these holes, it can accommodate objects from Ø0.38" to Ø1.19" (Ø9.8 mm to Ø30.3 mm), such as our Ø1/2" Lens Tubes. Two additional 6-32 (M4 x 0.7) mounting holes on the opposite side of the V allow a PM4(/M) clamping arm (available separately below) to be used to hold cylindrical objects as large as Ø1.88" (Ø47.7 mm), including Ø1" Lens Tubes, HeNe Lasers, Laser Diode Modules, Variable Optical Beam Expanders, and High-Magnification Zoom Lenses. Coarse pitch adjustment is enabled by loosening two 9/64" (3.0 mm) hex locking screws that secure the V-clamp to the Ø1" (Ø25.0 mm) flexure clamp's front plate. The screws can slide along radial slots in the plate for up to ±10° of pitch adjustment. The two locking screws should be tightened to secure the V-clamp at the desired angle. This clamp features a quick-release handle for securing the clamp to a post. The handle contains a 1/4"-20 (M6 x 1.0) threaded stud that engages the part by simply rotating the handle. An internal mechanism allows the handle's rotational position to be adjusted without actuating the mounting stud. Additional clamping arms and quick-release handles are also available separately below. ![]() ![]() Click to Enlarge All Mounting Holes on the C1013(/M) V-Clamp Mounts
The C1013(/M) Post V-Clamp Mount allows a cylindrical component to be secured to a Ø1" post. The mount includes one PM3(/M) clamping arm, which can be mounted in one of three 6-32 (M4 x 0.7) threaded holes along the outer edge of the mount (see the drawing to the right). The center mounting hole is recessed, allowing the PM3(/M) clamp to secure objects as small as Ø0.03" (0.8 mm). The two other mounting holes are at the top edge of the V; when the PM3(/M) is positioned in one of these holes, the clamp can accommodate objects from Ø0.38" to Ø1.19" (Ø9.8 mm to Ø30.3 mm), such as our Ø1/2" Lens Tubes. A PM4(/M) clamping arm (available separately below) can be mounted in one of the two 6-32 (M4 x 0.7) threaded holes on the opposite side of the mount. The PM4(/M) clamping arm can be used to hold cylindrical objects as large as Ø1.88" (Ø47.7 mm), including Ø1" Lens Tubes, HeNe Lasers, Laser Diode Modules, Variable Optical Beam Expanders, and High-Magnification Zoom Lenses. The two Ø0.58" (14.7 mm) adjusters on the side of the mount enable ±2° of pitch and yaw adjustment. A locking screw [5/64" (2.0 mm) hex], located next to each adjuster, locks the adjuster in place and prevents accidental movement. This clamp features a quick-release handle for securing the clamp to a post. The handle contains a 1/4"-20 (M6) threaded stud that engages the part by simply rotating the handle. An internal mechanism allows the handle's rotational position to be adjusted without actuating the mounting stud. Additional clamping arms and quick-release handles are also available separately below. ![]() ![]() Click for Details Mechanical Drawings
Thorlabs' PM3(/M) and PM4(/M) Clamping Arms use a nylon-tipped setscrew with a 5/64" (2.0 mm) hex to secure components or optics in our V-clamps or to our platform mounts. The PM3(/M) provides up to 0.97" (24.6 mm) of vertical space below the clamping arm and a 0.69" (17.5 mm) center-to-center distance between the post and the nylon-tipped setscrew. In contrast, the PM4(/M) provides up to 1.61" (40.9 mm) of vertical space below the clamping arm and a 1.16" (29.3 mm) center-to-center distance between the post and the nylon-tipped setscrew. The clamping arm for all items is held to the post using a flexure mechanism that locks with a 5/64" (2.0 mm) balldriver or hex key. The post also offers a through hole for added torque when tightening down the post. Please see the diagram above for additional information. ![]()
The C10QR(/M) Quick-Release Handle provides a simple and reliable way of securing a flexure-based Ø1" (Ø25.0 mm) post clamp*. In many cases a cap screw is used to lock a flexure-based clamp in place on a post, which requires a balldriver for adjustments. Depending on the mounted load, using a balldriver can be difficult, or even unsafe. This quick-release handle mitigates this problem by allowing the clamp to be hand-tightened, ensuring better control over the amount of torque applied to tighten or loosen the clamp. This also decreases the amount of time needed for basic setup and alignment by eliminating the need for additional balldrivers and allowing for a quick way to secure a clamp. *Note the C10QR(/M) is not compatible with the C1026(/M) and C1060(/M) Cage System Clamps for Ø1" Posts. Visit the full quick-release handle presentation for additional compatibility information. ![]()
The RSHA(/M) Adjustable Height Collar for Ø1" (25.0 mm) Posts offers convenient height adjustment for post mounted hardware. An easy-to-access actuator ring allows fine height adjustment at 0.025" (0.64 mm) per revolution. This collar also allows components to be freely rotated without changing height. To use, slip the collar over a Ø1" (Ø25.0 mm) post and hold at the desired height. Tighten the 1/4"-20 (M6) cap screw to secure the collar's position on the post via the flexure clamp. Place an optomechanic around the post on top of the collar and twist the actuator ring to adjust the component's height. The height can be fixed by turning the attached slotted locking ring, which includes four slots that can be used with our SPW504 Spanner Wrench. The nylon ring on top of the collar prevents marring while adjusting the height. | |||||||||||||||||
