SMA905 connectors, which are most commonly used with multimode fibers, have a stainless steel ferrule design that is ideally suited for large core fibers. Thorlabs stocks a complete selection of SMA905 connector sizes to accommodate our full line of large core fibers, ranging from Ø125 µm to Ø1580 µm. We also offer stainless steel furcation tubing and sleeves that are designed to provide a high degree of fiber protection.

Our standard and hex nut connectors come in a package that includes a fiber connector cap, crimp sleeve, and strain relief boot compatible with Ø3 mm furcation tubing. Both types of connectors have ferrules made out of 303 stainless steel. The hex nut connectors are compatible with any 5/16" wrench and are designed to be used in harsh vibration environments. We recommend tightening the hex nut connector to a torque of approximately 8 in-lbs.

High-temperature connectors manufactured using 304 stainless steel are designed for continuous operation in high-temperature environments up to 250 °C or vacuum down to 10-10 Torr when used with the FTSB1 Stainless Steel Sleeve and 353NDPK Epoxy. These high-temperature connectors are ideal for use with polyimide-coated fiber.

There is the wrong pdf drawing and step file attached, 10230A instead of 11275A. Maybe other data formats are also wrong.

I think that description to fibers connectors presented onthis page is misleading. If it is said that this connector is for 600 micron fiber then one will think about fiber of 600 micron core diameter whereas it should be clad diameter. Sure it can be obveous if one has already some experience with fibers and connectors. Otherwise it is really misleading

Dust Caps

The CAPM Rubber Dust Caps and CAPSM Threaded, Nickel-Plated Brass Caps are both compatible with SMA905 and SMA906 connectors. Additionally, the CAPM Rubber Dust Caps can be used with any Ø3.2 mm fiber connector ferrule. Dirt on the fiber tip can result in permanent damage to the fiber connector, which can increase coupling losses or create undesirable mode structures in the output light. To prevent damage to the connectorized fiber, clean the fiber end face before each use and use a fiber connector cap to protect the end face when it is not in use.
