| Product Summary: |
Features
- Material: UV Grade Fused Silica
- Broadband AR Coating for the UV
- Wavelength Range: 290 - 370 nm
Applications
- Anamorphic Shaping of Images
- Transform a Collimated Beam into a Line
- Produce Line Images for Scanning or Projection
Thorlabs UV-coated plano-concave cylindrical lens has an antireflection coating for the 290 - 370 nm range on both surfaces that the light goes through. UV-grade fused silica offers high transmission in the deep UV and exhibits virtually no laser-induced fluorescence (as measured at 193 nm), making it an ideal choice for applications from the UV to the near IR. The negative cylindrical lens can be used to expand light but only in one dimension, which makes them useful for one dimensional shaping of light sources. A typical application is to use a single cylindrical lens to turn a collimated laser into a line generator. Pairs of cylindrical lenses may be used to anamorphically shape images. To minimize the introduction of aberration, the curved surface of the lens should face the source when used to diverge a beam.
