The LA8023-E Silicon (Si) Plano-Convex Lens has an AR coating deposited on both surfaces. The measured transmission over the coating range (3 – 5 µm) is greater than 97%, and the average reflectance is less than 1.5%. Silicon offers high thermal conductivity and low density. However, since it has a strong absorption band at 9 microns, it is not suitable for use with CO2 laser transmission applications.
Plano-convex lenses focus a collimated beam to the back focus and collimate light from a point source. This lens has a positive focal length and near-best-form shape for infinite and finite conjugate applications.
