Features
- Broad UV to IR Output Spectrum with High CRI
- Integrated Ø3 mm Liquid Light Guide
- Lifetime 5X Longer Than Conventional Xenon Lamps (>10000 Hours)
- USB 2.0 Connection and Control Software Included
Thorlabs' HPLS243 high-power solid-state, plasma light source (LIFI®) combines the best features of solid-stage electronics and full spectrum plasma emitters. The HPLS243 uses a dielectric resonant cavity to efficiently couple power from a solid-state power amplifier through a high-intensity discharge vessel and into an included Liquid Light Guide. The results are a long life (>10,000 hours) and a complete color spectrum, making this source ideal for applications such as endoscopy, microscopy, and other medical lighting and inspection applications. This unit also offers many additional features including a USB 2.0 control interface and instantaneous intensity dimming.
The compact design of the HPLS243 incorporates a plasma lamp, lamp assembly, and universal (85 - 264 VAC) power supply in one enclosure. The output port of a HPLS243 Light Source features a Liquid Light Guide (LLG) mount that accepts an included Thorlabs' Ø3 LLG. It is designed to enable airflow and monitoring of the LLG tip temperature, which prevents overheating. The HPLS243's high-intensity output can be mated to the illumination port of many popular microscopes using a collimation adapter.
