Femtosecond Lasers

Thorlabs' line of femtosecond lasers includes the Octavius Laser and Supercontinuum Generation Kits, as well as ultrafast pulse diagnostics tools. The Octavius ultrafast laser provide a broad spectrum at a repetition rate of 85 MHz and allows for carrier offset frequency stabilization without external spectral broadening. The Supercontinuum Generation Kits utilize FemtoWhite highly nonlinear fibers to spectrally broaden femtosecond pulses near 800 nm. This results in an output beam that combines the high power and spatial coherence of a laser with the broad spectrum of an incandescent source.

Menlo Systems, a strategic partner of Thorlabs, offers several femtosecond laser systems. Included are fiber-based systems capable of pulse widths in the tens of femtoseconds with wavelengths in the visible and IR. These systems are ideal for high speed spectroscopy, optical metrology, and attosecond pulse generation.
