The CR1 rotation stage includes a fine pitch worm gear that provides high precision and backlash-free rotation achieved by the worm gear driven design. Rotation is actuated via a polished stainless steel adjuster knob located on the side of the unit. The rotating platform contains an array of 8-32 (M4), 6-32, and 4-40 tapped holes for general mounting requirements. Two radially shaped 1/4" (M6) slots machined in the base provide flexibility when fastening to an optical table.
The easy-to-read radial scale is marked in 2º increments and labeled every 10º. A side-located vernier scale improves resolution to 10 arcmin. The added ability to stack some of our translation stages on the rotation platform, and its 25 lbs capacity, make this stage useful in any laboratory.

Thorlabs' Green Initiative is aimed at reducing waste. To that end, we have begun to re-engineer our product packaging. The CR1 is now shipped in re-engineered packaging that minimizes the use of non-recyclable materials.

Thorlabs' PM3(/M) and PM4(/M) clamping arms feature a cap screw-activated flexure mechanism to secure the clamping arm to the post, while a nylon-tipped setscrew secures the optic. A Ø0.09" (Ø2.3 mm) hole located near the top of the post allows for its initial tightening with a 5/64" (2 mm) balldriver or hex key. Both screws feature a 5/64" (2 mm) socket. The PM3(/M) arm offers 0.97" (24.6 mm) of vertical travel, while the PM4(/M) arm offers 1.61" (40.9 mm) of vertical travel.
