Features

  • Includes Console, Sensor, and Mounting Components
  • C-Series Meter Consoles Compatible with Other C-Series Sensors
  • Large, Easy-to-Read Digital or Analog Display
  • USB 2.0 Connectivity and Graphical User Interface
  • Rechargeable Battery for 8 hr Remote Operation, AC Adapter Included
  • SMA Output (0 to 2 V) on Meters for Monitoring Signal

Our optical power meter kits are based on our handheld PM100 and PM200 Series power and energy meters and C-Series sensors. In addition to these kits, we also offer the power meters and sensors separately.

The PM120VA includes our PM100A optical power meter, which is a digital meter featuring an analog needle display with a supplemental LCD. The analog display is ideal when making relative power measurements. While the PM120VA includes an S120VC sensor, it is also compatible with all C-Series photodiode sensors and thermal sensors but not with the pyroelectric energy sensors.

All other kits include a PM100D digital power and energy meter or a PM200 touch screen power and energy meter. The PM100D meter offers a menu driven control panel, 4" backlit display, SD card slot for storing data, and compatibility with all of our C-Series sensors for power or energy measurements.

The PM200 meter offers a brilliant 5.7" touch screen and many enhanced features like an optional fiber inspection camera (avalable soon).

All the meters have USB 2.0 connectivity, a rechargeable battery for field work, and utilize our quick-connect C-Series sensors. Please see the Specs and Display tabs for for more information, or see the PM100A, PM100D, and PM200 full product presentations to learn about all of their features.

A resposne from Julien at Thorlabs: Dear Ken, thank you for your feedback! We indeed do not write explicitly that a post holder and a base are included in those bundles. We will modify the text on the webpage to make the exact component list clearer.

A response from Julien at Thorlabs: Dear Martin, I am really sorry about this inconvenience. We will ship you a replacement immediately. Concerning your question about the quality control, we do check each power meter individually before shipment. I unfortunately do not know what the exact problem with your console is but I assume something must have happened during the shipment. We will inspect the unit as soon as we have it back and take the appropriate measures to prevent such issue from happening again. I will contact you directly to sort out the shipping details for the replacement.

I have unpacked my PM204 (consists of a PM200 and a S120VC) but it is not reading anything. The measured value remains inf as well as the minimum and maximum value. Also in the applied software I don`t see any reading (value remains 0 or ---). I have auto ranging on an tried with several light conditions. In the software an indicator shows A (waiting for new measurement value)(in the left top corner) while I expect sometimes a T of "trigger". The detector itself is ok since it is functioning on a PM100D console. I have attached also a second detector (S155C)on the PM200 without success. I have checked for firmwareupdates but there are non available on the website. I can not find any reset functions or trigger-arm functions in the manual nor in the software. Did anybody check the console before chipping? That must be since a callibration sheet was shipped with it?!?! How do I fix it? Martin

Response from Javier at Thorlabs to dBolles: Thank you very much for contacting us. Yes, all of our C series sensors have NIST-traceable calibration data, as well as sensor information, saved in the DB9 connector. This information is automatically retrieved by our power meters as soon as the sensor is connected.

Aperture Ø9.5 mm
Spec Sheet PDF

These kits include our PM100D or PM200 meter console, a S122C photodiode power sensor, and a post assembly, consisting of a BA2 base, PH2 post holder, and TR2 Ø1/2" post. This combination is ideal for customers working with wavelengths in the far red to NIR (700 - 1800 nm). The sensor has a fluorescing alignment disk surrounding its active area, which simplifies IR beam alignment.

These kits include our PM100D or PM200 meter console, a S310C thermal power sensor, and a post assembly, consisting of a BA2 base, PH2 post holder, and TR2 Ø1/2" post. This combination is ideal for customers working with higher power lasers (up to 10 W) or longer wavelengths (up to 25 µm). Thermal sensors typically have slow response times, but our S310C sensor has been optimized, resulting in a fast response time (<1 s).
