Kinematic and Fixed Mounts for Ø1/2" or Ø1" D-Shaped Mirrors
Allow for Horizontal or Vertical Mounting
Compact Design for Beam Pickoff in Tight Spaces
Thorlabs' D-Shaped Mirror Mounts are designed to secure our Ø1/2" or Ø1" D-shaped mirrors. These mounts can be oriented for horizontal or vertical mounting and utilize two nylon-tipped setscrews to hold the mirror within mount. They can be easily secured to our Ø1/2" posts using either the 8-32 (M4) cap screw (Ø1" Kinematic Mounts) or setscrew (all others). The kinematic mounts offer ±4° of adjustment and can hold mirrors up to 6 mm (0.236") thick. The fixed mounts can hold mirrors up to 6.1 mm (0.24") thick.

Response from Javier at Thorlabs to mijaeldv: Thank you very much for your feedback! We are currently finalizing the details of the design of kinematic mounts for our 1/2" and 1" diameter D-shaped mirrors. The adjustability and range and foot print will be similar to that of our KM100 kinematic mount: http://www.thorlabs.com/NewGroupPage9.cfm?ObjectGroup_ID=1492. I will contact you with more information about this product.

Im currently doing research using these mounts. Due to the lack of adjustability, i have been forced to use a more complex and difficult set up for my experiment. It is definitely suggested that this mount should have a couple of knobs for adjustment, it would make it much more effective for any type application.

This D-mirror is very useful, but the mount could be improved. I would like to see an adjustable kinematic mount with more clearance near the sharp edge of the D-mirror. Let the sharp edge protrude beyond the mount a couple of millimeters, and give us knobs to turn. Preferably the knobs would be low-profile.

KM100D and KM100DL: 8 mrad (0.5°) of Travel per Rev
Maximum Optic Thickness: 6 mm (0.236")
Post Mountable
Thorlabs' Kinematic D-Shaped Mirror Mounts are specifically designed to mount our Ø1/2" or Ø1" D-shaped mirrors. Two nylon-tipped setscrews secure the mirror in the mount. These mounts feature a compact design to maximize clearance and avoid clipping in beam pickoff applications. The KM05D offers an angular adjustment range of ±4° with 13 mrad (0.75°) of adjustment per revolution via two 3/16"-100 precision adjusters, while the KM100D and KM100DL offer an angular adjustment range of ±4° with 8 mrad (0.5°) of adjustment per revolution via two 1/4"-80 TPI precision adjusters. All adjusters can be actuated using a HKTS-5/64 hex key thumbscrew or other 5/64" hex key.
The KM100D and KM100DL, which are right- and left-handed variants of the same mount, have two #8 (M4) counterbored holes for post mounting in a vertical or horizontal orientation (screws included). The KM05D offers the same post mounting options via two 8-32 (M4) tapped holes. The knobs on the KM100D and KM100DL are removable, exposing hex socket adjusters for placement in tight areas.
Also Compatible with Round, Plano Ø1/2" or Ø1" Optics
Post Mountable via 8-32 (M4) Tap
These mounts, which can be oriented either vertically or horizontally, are designed for use with our Ø1/2" or Ø1" D-shaped mirrors. They are directly compatible with our extensive line of 1/2" posts via their 8-32 (M4) mounting thread.
For applications where space is limited, this line of D-shaped mounts can also be used with round, plano Ø1/2" or Ø1" optics.
