These collimator adapters are designed to mount fixed collimation packages in Ø1" (Ø25.4 mm) mounts. Each adapter has a double bored center hole and an unthreaded 1" (25.4 mm) outer diameter. Two nylon-tipped setscrews hold the collimation package against two lines of contact created by the double bore. Both setscrews feature a 1/16" hex socket. The adapter design centers the collimator within the outer diameter, which in turn aligns the collimated beam to the center of the mount it is held in.

The AD8F, AD11F, AD12F, and AD15F collimator adapters are designed to mount Ø8, Ø11, Ø12, and Ø15 mm collimation packages, respectively, in SM1-compatible mounts, lens tubes, and cage components. The adapter has external SM1 threads and a double bored center hole. Two inline 1/16" hex setscrews with nylon tips are used to press the collimation package against the two lines of contact created by the double bore (see the mechanical drawing to the left) and position the collimation package so that its optical axis is coincident with the center of the SM1-compatible component that the adapter is placed in. The AD11F and AD12F contain through holes on opposing sides of the central hole that are mechanically compatible with our SPW909 and SPW801 spanner wrenches.

The AD9.5F collimator adapter is designed to mount Ø9.5 mm collimation packages, such our adjustable fiber collimators, in SM1-compatible mounts, lens tubes, and cage components. The adapter has external SM1 threads, a double-bored central hole, and features a Ø1/2" couterbore on the back side so that an FC connector can be threaded onto the collimator. A 1/16" hex, nylon-tipped setscrew is used to press the collimation package against the two lines of contact created by the double bore and positions the collimation package so that its optical axis is coincident with the center of the SM1-compatible component that the adapter is placed in. The through holes on opposing sides of the central hole are mechanically compatible with our SPW909 and SPW801 spanner wrenches.

The AD1109F adapter is designed to mount optical components with external M11 x 0.5 or M9 x 0.5 threading in SM05-compatible mounts, lens tubes, and cage components. Thorlabs' F220, F230, and F260 series of fixed aspheric lens fiber collimation packages have external M11 x 0.5 threading, while the A390TM, A397TM, A375TM, C110TME, C220TME, C230TM, C260TM, C280TM, C330TM, C340TM, C560TME, C570TM, C671TM, A110TM, and A220TM mounted aspheric lenses have external M9 x 0.5 threading. The AD1109F can be paired with the SM1A6 adapter that converts external SM05 threading to external SM1 threading so that the AD1109F can be used in SM1-compatible mounts, lens tubes, and cage components.

The RMS11P is designed to mate M11 x 0.5 threaded collimation packages to internally RMS-threaded (0.800"-36) components. The knurled outer edge allows the adapter to be secured without a spanner wrench.
These adapters are designed to mount Thorlab's GRIN Lens Fiber Collimators in SM05- or SM1-compatible mounts, lens tubes, and cage components. A 1/16" hex, nylon-tipped setscrew is used to press the GRIN lens fiber collimator against the two lines of contact created by the double-bored mounting hole. The adapters' design ensures that the GRIN lens is aligned with the optical axis when mounted into a SM05 or SM1 lens tube. |
