The FFM1 Cage-Compatible Dichroic Filter Holder is specifically designed to hold the rectangular dichroic filters frequently used in fluorescence microscopy applications (see photo to the right). The two included #4-40 (M3) cap screws can be used to secure the holder to Thorlabs' B3C Rotatable Cage Cube Platform or our B4C Rotatable Kinematic Cage Cube Platform.

If used with a C4W Cage Cube, the mount enables the optic to be placed at a 45^o angle with respect to the incident light and provides a Ø1" clear aperture, which is the maximum possible filter area for this configuration. If used with the C6W Cage Cube, you will only be able to use the top four ER rod clearance holes (the bottom ones will be blocked by the B3C stage) and the maximum filter height that can be accommodated is 0.98" (25 mm).

Rectanglular filters up to 3 mm thick can be held using two spring-loaded clamping arms designed to avoid scratching of the dichroic filter's interference coating; simply apply a horizontal force to the spring-loaded clamps, seat the optic into the channel created, and release the clamps, which leaves the optic wedged between a stop and a clamp at each end.

If desired, the FFM1 can be mounted directly to a Mini Series Post using the included cap screws. To mount the filter holder to our Ø1/2" TR posts, which feature #8-32 (M4) threading, you'll need an MSA8 thread adapter (MSA4/M for metric TR posts).

The soft, nylon-coated spring clips provide a secure holding force without damaging the filter. The DH1 provides an 8-32 (M4) tapped hole in its base for mounting directly to our popular TR-series posts.

The FH2 and FH2D provide center-located #8 (M4) counterbored holes for mounting with cap screws. Additionally, the FH2 and FH2D offer two Ø0.18" (4.6 mm) through holes for use with #8 (M4) screws, allowing multiple filter holders to be stacked together. They are ideal for use in OEM applications requiring fastening to a secure bulkhead.

The SFH2 Lockable Quick-Release Filter Holder is an ideal solution for filter applications requiring a screw-actuated lock. Two locking arms integrate rubber cushions that protect your filters from damage. A screw actuated locking feature provides the long-term stability required for sensitive optical applications. The design eliminates bulky vertical stanchions associated with typical square filter mounts in order to provide maximum clear aperture.

This general-purpose plate holder secures objects up to 0.58" thick. The clamping screw to secure the plate has a Delrin tip to prevent damage to the optic. A center-located 8-32 (M4) counterbore allows for fastening to our popular Ø1/2" posts in addition to other general mounting platforms

This heavy-duty plate holder is a useful general purpose mount for holding large exposure plates or filters. The two locking screws have Delrin tips to minimize stress when clamping on precision optical flats. The two 8-32 (M4) counterbores allow for fastening to our popular Ø1/2" posts or other general mounting platforms. Additionally a center-located 1/4-20 mounting hole provides additional flexibility allowing mounting directly onto breadboards or other mounts.
